Oracle Snowflake Data Analyst – 100% Remote

Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support our migration from Oracle to Snowflake. This role requires strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of data structures to accurately translate and optimize queries. The ideal candidate will have the ability to grasp complex business logic, validate data integrity, and ensure the accuracy of migrated queries through thorough testing. The candidate must be able to quickly get up to speed on existing database relationships and data dependencies. Experience with data blending tools like Alteryx and working with offshore resources is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and understand existing Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models in the context of business requirements.
Quickly learn and comprehend database relationships and dependencies to ensure accurate query translation.
Rewrite and optimize queries for Snowflake while maintaining data accuracy and performance.
Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure query results in Snowflake match expected outputs from Oracle.
Collaborate with business users, and developers to clarify requirements and resolve data discrepancies.
Implement best practices for query performance optimization and data validation in Snowflake.
Develop and execute test cases to verify data consistency post-migration.
Utilize data blending tools like Alteryx (if applicable) to support data transformation and validation.
Work effectively with offshore resources to coordinate tasks, review deliverables, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Document query transformations, testing methodologies, and key findings for reference.
Qualifications
Strong SQL expertise, with hands-on experience in both Oracle and Snowflake.
Ability to interpret complex business logic embedded in SQL queries and stored procedures.
Ability to quickly learn and understand database relationships and dependencies.
Experience with data validation, testing methodologies, and troubleshooting discrepancies.
Familiarity with Snowflake-specific SQL functions, performance tuning, and best practices.
Experience with data blending tools like Alteryx is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
